Hi loves, as some of you know, I was recently in Cartagena for a little more than a week. According to Lonely Planet, Cartagena de Indias is the queen of the Caribbean coast, a fairy-tale city of romance, legends and superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. During my stay, I was so blessed to stay, eat, and wander within the historic center of this magical city.
WHERE TO STAY
Centro Hotel Cartagena
I loved that it is within the walled city, in the middle of everything you want to see. I love palm trees so it was awesome to have breakfast looking at them. My room had a private balcony from where I could watch horse carriages, it was priceless. During my stay it was coolย to use the hotel’s concierge app to help me find restaurants, things to do, and more. Hope these pictures give you a little idea of my stay…
WHERE TO EAT
Stefanos’ Bistro
I loved their lemonades so much, my sis and I had to visit Stefano’s twice.
Bacco Trattoria
Everything at Bacco was delicious. It was Passover, so I could not try any pastas or pizzas which gave me another reason to be back to Cartagena so soon…The Melanzanne a la Parmigiana was excellent, thankful for such a sweet treat!!! ๐
Club de Pesca
The magic of the restaurant Club de Pesca is as amazing as Cartagena itself. The food, the ambiance, the location is simply breathtaking. I was here on a Friday night, they had live music and the magic experienced at this place was beyond words…I highly recommended! On my way to the restaurant I asked my Uber driver to please stop for a minute to capture this sunset for you guys ๐
WHAT TO DO
It was so nice to ride bikes within the wall city and visit most of the top attractions including Plaza Santo Domingo,ย Plaza San Diego,ย Plaza Bolivar,ย Torre del Reloj,ย Plaza de la Aduana, ย and Portal de los Dulces.
Another day did the same tour by horse ride ๐
When walking in the city, I could not resist taking pictures by these colonial houses….all of them were too cute and so photogenic ๐
I love fruits and in Cartagena you get to eat a lot of them so I was so happy…
The man selling raspao was so kind to let me use his little cart for a few minutes to captureย this cute picture ๐
I helped him make my own raspao, it was very fun!!!
Soon, I will be sharing another little adventure I did while in Cartagena, can’t wait!!!
Hope you enjoyed!
xoxo
